Description

The design from the Noire collection, inspired by great art, is a reproduction of a painting by a Dutch painter from the 17th century, Abraham Mignon, specialising in still life painting. He painted flower bouquets in pots or hanging ones, garlands and flower and fruit wreaths, niches with fruit, slaughtered poultry and hunting trophies, sumptuous table still lifes with fruit and glasses full of wine. He is particularly fond of (following Jan de Heem's example) the type of composition with flowers, fruit, insects, birds and small animals in the landscape - mainly at the edge of the forest. His paintings are characterised by great technical efficiency, scientific precision of observation of flora and fauna specimens, and exuberant decorativeness.
